Intel officially introduced a system-on-chip (SoC) latest generation of the Atom Z3000 family, the Bay Trail, which uses nano-fabrication technology 22 meters (nm).
The processor is designed for the tablet computer, the two-in-one,
all-in-one, laptop, and desktop, both running the Windows operating
system, Android, Chrome, Mac OS, and Linux. Bay Trail is also ready to be used for computers that do not use the fan unit on the processor.
In the Intel Developer Forum 2013, held in San Francisco, USA, on
Wednesday (11/09/2013), Intel says the processor is ready to be used by
the five major computer companies, namely Acer, Asus, Dell, Lenovo, and
Toshiba.
"With the Bay Trail, our manufacturer partners to create devices with a
variety of price ranges," said Hermann Eul, Corporate Vice President
and General Manager, Intel's Mobile and Communications Group.
He said, performance and quality graphics Bay Trail twice faster than previous generation processors. As for battery life, the device with the Bay Trail can last up to 10 hours.
Bay Trail processor uses Intel HD graphics processing unit that
supports DirectX 11, OpenGL ES 3.0, and support with a screen resolution
of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. Did not stop there, Bay Trail also supports 4K video technology.
Bay Trail will be available for the type of dual-core processors and quad-core processors, with speeds and different capacities. However, Intel and its partners do not tell you when the computer with Bay Trail will be released to the market.
